Daily Email - Friday - 04/03/2026

mural by: Nathan Brown

Friday is here, and so is the freakin’ weekend! A finish line? Let’s look at it as a starting point where anything could happen… yeah, I like that twist much better. Speaking of twists, instead of our normal Free Stuff Friday, we talk with a local insider about their suggestions on upcoming events, and if you’re a fan of 90’s pop culture, be sure to tune in for this!

Nashville in the spring basically demands a cold drink in your hand, preferably outside with a crowd that’s just as committed to the bit. So yeah, throw your name in for a pair of VIP tickets to the Music City Brewers Fest and enjoy unlimited tastings, live music, and a full day built around good beer and better decisions (or worse ones, depending). Feels like the kind of plan future you will be glad you made!

And don’t worry, there are still LOTS of free things to do this weekend and if you are curious about freebies here’s that link so you still get your fix.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • This June, AFTERLIFE transforms an underground art house in Madison into a multi-room journey filled with music, film, immersive experiences, and strange encounters. The artists invite us to consider death not as a wall but as a doorway. Only 15 tickets per performance. Go see what’s on the other side!

  • Wake & Bake Weekend runs April 18th-20th at LabCanna East with free yoga, joint rolling classes, tastings, giveaways, an art gallery and a 4/20 raffle, plus a CBD/THC prize pack up for grabs. Roll through all three days!*

  • Comedy veteran Kathy Griffin takes the Schermerhorn stage on April 12th for her New Face, New Tour, delivering a night of sharp, unfiltered stand-up from the Emmy and Grammy-winning comic. Brace yourself, and win seats here.*

  • Plus other just announced shows from Saxsquatch, MAS EDM, Aaron Lewis and The Stateliners, The New Pornographers, and more!

HOW TO REVISIT THE 90’s WITH BRIAN WATERS OF DO615

We’re trying a little something new here at Do615 for our Friday Editorial, and what better way than to celebrate with one of our own! Brian Waters, our fearless GM (and long-time supporter in the local music scene) kicks us off with his ode to arguably the greatest (if not one of the most organically creative) generations, The 90’s.

Brian has hand-selected some upcoming local shows that will kick your 90’s nostalgia into overdrive, ranging from SNL comedy legends and to Diva dominance.

NOELLE PRESENTS:

THE SECRET GARDEN AT HIDDEN BAR

The Secret Garden is popping up at Hidden Bar, which means you’ve got about a 2-hour window to pretend you’re the main character in a slightly unhinged, very aesthetic fever dream.

Expect lush vibes, strong drinks, and a crowd that understood the assignment. It’s part party, part escape room for your personality, minus the puzzles, plus better outfits.

If your week’s been aggressively mid, this is how you fix it. Get in before it sells out (or worse, your friends go without you)!*

TODAY

FRI - BRISCOE at DREAMLAND (FREE)

FRI - LARANYX at THE OFFICE (FREE w/ RSVP)

4.11 - TY HERNDON (WIN)

4.29 - MUSIC CITY ROOTS (WIN)

DOGS & DOGWOODS AT CHEEKWOOD

Dogs + flowers + you pretending you “just happened” to look this put-together on a Saturday.

Dogs & Dogwoods at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens on April 18th-19th is basically spring’s best excuse to show off, with peak blooms, a ridiculously cute parade of pups, and enough fresh air to reset your entire personality. Wander the gardens, hit the food trucks, vibe to live music, and spend a majority of the time asking “oh my god, can I pet them?”

It’s wholesome. It’s chaotic. It’s Nashville at its absolute best. Bring your dog, or just come to meet everyone else’s.*

LOCALS ONLY

  • Who likes a good bracket? Lightning 100’s Music City Mayhem is Nashville’s premiere new music discovery competition, exposing listeners to emerging talent while allowing Nashville’s Independent Radio to identify and support local stars in the making! Vote here for your favorite local.*

  • AI meets the big screen at The Belcourt (through April 9th) with The A.I. Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist. This thought-provoking documentary dives into the promise and risks of artificial intelligence, sparking conversation about the future we’re building. Get a glimpse, if you dare. (trailer)

  • Just when you thought Nashville parking couldn’t get any worse… it gets better?! A new Metropolis program is offering two $15 credits to use at participating lots statewide. Just log in to claim yours under “promotions”.
