Daily Email - Friday - 05/01/2026

I had one of those moments this week where I realized, I can’t remember why we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. For some, it’s a once-a-year speedrun of tacos and margs. For others, it’s about Mexico’s 1862 win over the French at the Battle of Puebla (not Independence Day, that’s September 16, don’t get it twisted). Me? I’m here for the music, the culture, the people, and anything involving traditional mole or aguas frescas.

Regardless, it’s officially time to start thinking about tacos, margaritas, and where you’re going to land when everyone in the city has the same idea. So we pulled together a Cinco de Mayo guide to help you get ahead of it, or at least end up somewhere worth the wait.

I’ve learned some spring plans in Nashville stay casual… and some turn into a full day real quick. This is definitely the second. Nashville Rosé Festival brings 100+ wines, food trucks, DJs, and prime park hangs to East Park on May 16th. If that sounds like your kind of afternoon, go ahead and get yourself in the mix to win tix!*

JUST ANNOUNCED

CINCO DE MAYO EVENTS IN NASHVILLE

Spell check can chill… I said Cinco de Mayo, and I meant it. “May 5th” is for the birds!

Call it what you want, just don’t show up empty-handed. This is your annual reminder to eat something incredible, drink something cold, and maybe learn a thing or two between bites.

However you notate it and celebrate it, here are the spots around town doing it right. Show up, show love, and support local Mexican and Latine-owned businesses today and year-round!

If you’ve never done a show from a bowling lane… let’s fix that!*

Hoping you find the perfect margarita-and-taco combo on the ultimate Taco Tuesday. I’ll be doing lunch ($2 tacos, every Tuesday!) at Turkey & The Wolf and then bopping over to the Lost & Found hang if anyone wants to get out and say hey.
