There are certain places that become part of the city's collective memory. Restaurants where first dates turned into marriages. Bars where friendships started. Venues where you discovered an artist before everyone else caught on.
I’ve been very lucky to work for three of the major restaurants that have closed due to Nashville’s boom. First was PM (sushi bar on Belmont), where I worked during it’s heyday. Then 12th South Taproom’s recent closing, which was truly a tough blow to the 12th South neighborhood. And now Margot/Marche, where I had the pleasure of working for another of one of my favorite chefs ever. They’ll all be missed, and never forgotten… at least by this humble servant. A huge thank you to Arnold & Anna, Will & Jamie, and Margot for letting me be a part of Nashville’s rich culinary history.
