As a longtime Nashville native, I love making recommendations, and I’ve kept up with the city's ever-changing landscape since I was a teenager exploring outside of my little suburb. This week's Local's List rounds up a few of my favorite old haunts that are no longer with us (RIP) and some independently owned remaining gems that should be supported while they are still with us.
Check out my list, and wax nostalgic with me. If there’s any that I missed that you really cared about, email me a reply here and let me know what you’re doing to honor its memory.
Then, you can enter to win a family-style Southern feast at another local staple, The Loveless Cafe, as they host their fourth annual Fish Fry-Day on July 31st. One lucky winner will score a pair of tickets plus a Taste of the Loveless gift set packed with biscuits, catfish, classic fixin's, and plenty of summertime fun, so go ahead and cast your line.*
JUST ANNOUNCED
Road trip, anyone? Lord Huron heads to The Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, Alabama, on July 31st, and this giveaway includes a pair of tickets plus a stay at 106 Jefferson so you can make a weekend of it. Pack your bags!*
The Dear Hunter's cinematic blend of prog rock and orchestral storytelling returns to The Mil at Cannery Hall on July 29th. After a venue change, it’s still being presented by The Basement East. If you've been waiting for their next Nashville stop, this is it…grab your tickets before they're gone.*
Some bands write songs. American Aquarium tells stories. Catch BJ Barham and company at the Ryman on August 14th for a night of heartfelt Americana and Southern rock. Enter to win your way in.*
Vintage treasures, quirky finds, and bargains worth bragging about. The Nashville Flea Market returns July 24th-26th with hundreds of vendors to explore, and we're giving one lucky duck some free parking to make the hunt even sweeter.*
Plus other just announced shows from The Linda Lindas w/ Grace Bowers, Wax Motif, Jim Lauderdale, and more!
