The long weekend has ARRIVED, and I’m especially amped because Alex and I are heading off to Europe for a couple of weeks! ✌️ Don’t worry. You’ll be in great hands with the DoStuff team, and I’ll still be popping in regularly from across the pond.
As exciting as this trip is, I’m honestly a little jealous of everyone staying in town this weekend because there’s a lotttt of fun stuff going on. Enough about me, though. Let’s get your holiday weekend planned!
JUST ANNOUNCED
On September 9 and 18 at The Office, the Nashville Beatdown pits four DJs against each other for two spots in the championship, with live music, giveaways, drink specials, and more. The first 25 guests get in FREE, so head over when doors open at 8:00 pm!*
Spend September 12 at the free Grassroots & Nudie Suits Festival for live music, vintage style, local vendors, and more. Then, head to the evening’s Music City Roots concert at Harken Hall, featuring Carlene Carter, Lola Kirke, and Oliver Wood. Enter to win tickets to the show!*
Fort Worth is bringing its music scene to AMERICANAFEST with the free Cowtown GitDown at Tennessee Brew Works on September 17. Stop by from 11:30 am until 7:00 pm to grab a drink, enjoy a bite, and discover your new favorite band. Enter to win a prize pack!*
On September 20, join Nashville Symphony musicians and Lolu CEO Evan Galante at the Schermerhorn for a guided breathwork and gentle movement experience set to classical music. Put on some comfy clothes, bring a yoga mat, and enter to win two tickets!*
Plus other just announced shows from Bleach, Catie Turner, Peaches, and more!
LABOR DAY WEEKEND PLANS
I’ve been keeping an eye on everything happening around Nashville this weekend, and I pulled together some of the best plans for you. Whether you’re in the mood for live music, a movie, drag brunch, a night swim, line dancing, stand-up, goat yoga, or discounted drinks with friends, I’ve got you covered!
TONIGHT
9/12 - NMTN PRESENTS THE FIRST STAGE (WIN) 9/16 - SOUTHERN ROUNDS 10/3 - MAD RECORDS SHOWCASE 10/21 - TEDX MIXTAPE (FREE) |
LOCALS ONLY
New Zealand artist Wendy Murray is making her way down Gallatin Pike, drawing every building that lines the street. I never thought I’d want a portrait of Walgreens hung in my living room.
I’m working from L&L Market with a friend today, and I feel like this spot is seriously slept on. Maybe I’ll see if Alex wants to meet me here after work for a little date night before we head home and start packing.
