As I am traveling the West Coast this week, I realized I’d been in the “I need to get out of town for a minute” mode for a while now, and something finally gave me the push to move on it. For anyone would love to get away but can’t do a cross-country trek on a whim, there are still easy local options. Nothing dramatic, just a quick reset.

And somehow I always forget how close Columbia, TN is until I’m already halfway there, coffee in hand, wandering a town square that feels like it’s moving at a completely different pace. Between the historic downtown, little shops, and spots along the Duck River, it’s the kind of day trip that actually feels like a break. So, we mapped out a perfect day in Columbia if you’re in that same headspace.

And if you’re staying even closer to home, there’s also something a little more tucked-away happening at Hidden Bar. The Secret Garden pop-up, which leans all the way into spring with immersive vibes and a setting that feels a bit removed from the usual rotation. Feels like one of those easy wins… might as well see if you can snag a $50 head start at the bar.*

JUST ANNOUNCED

SPEND A DAY IN COLUMBIA, TENNESSEE

Columbia, TN is what happens when “small town charm” actually delivers. It’s got just enough vintage vibes, just enough weird, and plenty of spots to eat, drink, and wander without feeling like you’re stuck in a Hallmark movie… unless that is your thing, in which case there’s a little of that to be found, too. Close enough for a day trip, fun enough to stay longer!
