I had a moment this weekend where I realized how much better the city feels when you’re actually plugged into it, not just going out, but finding spaces where people are showing up as themselves and building something real together. That’s what makes Nashville special to me, and it’s exactly what’s behind this week’s LGBTQIA+ events guide, a mix of celebrations, community hangs, and nights that feel a little more intentional.

And if your week could use something a little more… groovy, there’s a full-on 70’s and 80’s takeover by 8 Track, happening at Harken Hall on April 25th! Live band, wild characters, deep cuts, surprise guests, and zero commitment to staying in this decade. It’s less “concert” and more time machine, and yeah… someone’s getting in for free, so you might as well throw your name in and see if you’re dancing your way into it.

• My hometown gets artsy on May 9th-10th, as Hendersonville Arts Festival brings art, live music, and food vendors to Sanders Ferry Park, with handcrafted goods, installations and all-ages programming across a full weekend. Make a day (or two) of it!*
