St. Patrick’s Day in Nashville has a way of sneaking up on me. However, this year I got an early taste by stopping by the Do615 tent at East Nash Stache Bash this past Saturday, and had a total blast! Shout out to Chris, our new favorite unofficial spokesperson for DoMORE. Thanks for helping spread the love, brother!
This week’s newsletter leans into the chaos: St. Paddy’s Day shenanigans, a few shows (and dance parties) I’d personally circle on the calendar, and some giveaways that might just upgrade your plans. So let’s get right into it…
Folk-rock favorites The Avett Brothers are bringing their heartfelt harmonies to The Pinnacle on April 11th, joined by collaborator and Faith No More frontman, Mike Patton, on the project AVTT/PTTN, a genre-bending meeting of Americana storytelling and experimental rock. Enter to win tickets!

Civic dialogue meets real connections April 9th-10th at the NJC Leadership Conference, featuring panels on Metro Transit’s “Choose How You Move” initiative, breakout sessions and networking with Nashville leaders. Enter to win conference tickets, and be a part of what’s next!*
Smashville gets a classic matchup March 28th when the Nashville Predators host the Montréal Canadiens at Bridgestone Arena. Saturday night hockey and a packed downtown arena make this one feel electric. Arrive early and receive a Mike Fisher & Carrie Underwood bobblehead!*
Hit songs, stripped down. The Hit List brings songwriters James Otto, Craig Campbell and Mae Estes to Harken Hall March 26th for an intimate round sharing more than just the music. Come for the hits, stay for the story.*
Jam-scene favorites Dogs In A Pile roll into The Basement East March 28th with their kaleidoscopic blend of funk, jazz improvisation and psych-rock grooves. Expect tight musicianship and exploratory jams. Join the Dog Pound!*
Plus other just announced shows from The Beach Boys, Jill Scott, Jacob Collier and more!
ST PATRICK’S DAY SHENANIGANS
Shane “Shenanigan” MacGowan hisself, the legendary Pogues frontman, famously slurred that we should “cram as much pleasure as you can into life, and rail against the pain.” And if there’s a holiday that understands that assignment, it’s St. Patrick’s Day.
In Nashville, that means pints stacked high at McNamara’s, fiddle tunes echoing out of East Nashville bars, and Broadway filling up with a sea of green jerseys, shamrock sunglasses, and people who absolutely did not plan to start drinking at 10am, but here we are. Whether you’re chasing a proper Guinness, live Irish music, or just looking for an excuse to day-drink with the rest of the city, here are the best events around Nashville to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Sláinte!

Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony
Growing up in Nashville, there’s a quiet understanding that Dolly’s the closest thing we’ve got to a hometown superhero. Experience this theory in practice, with Nashville Symphony’s tribute, Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony, on March 19th. Dolly’s iconic songs come to life with lush orchestral arrangements, guest vocalists, and storytelling guided by Dolly herself (on-screen). Expect beloved hits like “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You” in a sweeping, cinematic tribute to her life and music. Ask yourself, what would Dolly do?*

File this under “Awwwwwwww”: Nashville Zoo just welcomed its first-ever capybaras, Brie and Andouille, marking the debut of the world’s largest and cutest rodent at the zoo. The pair will eventually move into a new South American habitat near Flamingo Lagoon.
