While I can’t stop watching the insane NBA Playoffs/Conference Finals, Memorial Day Weekend has snuck up on me once again. Today’s guide rounds up the best concerts, markets, patio hangs, festivals, and general chaos happening across the long weekend, so you can spend less time scrolling and more time figuring out where everybody’s meeting up.

Meanwhile, KALEO is bringing their massive, blues-heavy sound to The Pinnacle on July 19th, and we’ve got tickets with your name potentially on them. If “Way Down We Go” ever made you feel like the main character in a very dramatic movie montage, this one’s probably worth trying to win the prize (free tickets).

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Broadway’s about to become a cowboy boot traffic jam again, which can only mean one thing: CMA Fest is almost here. We’re hooking one lucky person up with the full tourist-in-your-own-city treatment, including festival passes, a Fairlane stay, Ryman tours, dinner at Modern Love, and a year of Do615 MORE. Tempt fate, and enter to win!*

  • Nashville’s Pride Month calendar is officially starting to fill up, and honestly, June is looking extremely booked already. Drag shows, dance parties, markets, concerts, community hangs, and plenty of reasons to wear something louder than usual are all on deck, so start plotting accordingly.*

  • Chance The Rapper hits the Ryman on August 30th fresh off Star Line, his globe-spanning new era blending hip-hop, soul, and big-picture introspection. Between the venue and the material, this feels less like a concert and more like one of those “remember when we saw Chance at the Ryman?” nights waiting to happen. Don’t miss it!*

  • Plus other just announced shows from Indigo Girls, Everclear, Son Little, The Midnight, and more!

CELEBRATE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 🇺🇸

Memorial Day in Nashville sneaks up on us like the Bang This twins on broadway… you look up and all of a sudden, it’s time for laughter, selfies, and eventually a good escape plan! To help motivate those that haven’t yet planned their holiday escape just yet, check out our guide to see what kinds of shenanigans people are getting up to this extended weekend!

Some Highlights:

  • HENDERSONVILLE SPRING CARNIVAL (5.21-5.30) - A full week+ of fun at Veterans Park, enjoying the rides, games, and delicious food. There will also be live music from The Isaacs & Friends on Monday.

  • MUSICIANS CORNER (FRI-SUN) - Enjoy free live music at Centennial Park from Amanda Shires, The Verve Pipe, Madi Diaz, Sam Palladino, and more. Win drink tickets and a t-shirt!

  • CORNELIA AIRPARK CONCERT (SAT) - Catch live music from Blue Cactus, Milly Raccoon, and HWY ‘94 at Cornelia Fort Airpark. Enjoy craft beer, family activities, food vendors, and more!

THIS WEEKEND

LOCALS ONLY

  • Music nerds, this is your Super Bowl. Head to The Blue Room tonight for WNXP’s Music Trivia Night, ticket giveaways for Kacey Musgraves, Geese, and Interpol, and the chance to publicly prove you know way too much about obscure albums and side projects.

  • Free live music during CMA Fest week is already a strong concept, but the Ryman x BMI Block Party somehow keeps overachieving. The three-day plaza takeover returns June 4th-6th with rising country names, cold drinks, and the kind of crowd that accidentally stays for six sets straight. Pull up, it’s FREE!

WIN STUFF

🔥 THE THEs:

Gonna try and spite the weather and sneak the kayaks out there at some point, but so far, “outlook not good”, according to the ole magic 8-ball.

Hope y’all find a little time this weekend for some good grub, loud music, a cold drink somewhere outside, and if you get rained out, just refer back to our list to see what else is going on that has a rooftop!

Cheers,

Jason
