Hey friends,
I'm kicking off today's newsletter with my favorite kind of announcement: free stuff. 🎉 We’re giving away a FOUR-PACK of tickets to the PBR: Team Series (August 14-16), so stampede on over and shoot your shot*. Then, stick around for Tomato Art Fest picks, weekend plans, big announcements, and lots of other stuff you won’t wanna miss. Make sure to say hey if you see me at the Tomato Art Fest Pre View Party tonight! I'll be the one wearing red. ;)

The (FREE) Watermelon Festival is coming up on August 15, offering all kinds of fun for every age. So grab your friends or bring the fam and enjoy a sweet summer day filled with great food, local shopping, unforgettable entertainment, and even puppy adoptions. 🥹 I’ll see you there, right?*
Walk Off the Earth is bringing its impressively creative live show to Brooklyn Bowl on August 10 with Luminati Suns and Myles Erlick. If you've only seen them online, now's your chance to experience the wonder in person. Enter to win tickets!*

IT’S TOMATO TIME!
Tomato Art Fest is almost here, and I can’t wait to see all the ways this tangy little fruit gets turned into art. But if you’re also looking to eat some tomatoes this weekend, I’ve put together a lil’ list of local spots where you can do just that.
CHEEKWOOD ESTATE AND GARDEN PRESENTS:
DOG NIGHTS OF SUMMER
Bring your pup for an evening of dog-friendly fun on Thursdays in August at Cheekwood. These special editions of Nashville’s favorite Thursday Night Out concerts feature great music and a chance to explore the America the Beautiful; National Parks & Landmarks by Rail trains installation.
Enjoy dedicated drink stations for those with paws and libations for their owners. Visit local vendors offering treats and apparel for pups, and more. Bring the whole family, including the dog, for a relaxing summer night in the gardens.*
THIS WEEKEND
THUR-SAT - TOMATO ART FESTIVAL AT FIVE POINTS (FREE)* SAT - KOE WETZEL AT BRIDGESTONE ARENA (WIN TIX) SUN - NICKI BLUHM AT SKINNY DENNIS (FREE) |
8/13 - SARAH AILI 8/26 & 8/27 - RON ARTIS II BIRTHDAY TOUR (WIN TIX) |
LOCALS ONLY
If you've been following the proposed data center near the Nashville Zoo, I’m happy to report a notable update: Metro Council voted to authorize eminent domain for the site. This move could stop the project and preserve the land for public use. Whether you've been following along closely or are just catching up, this is an important reminder that local voices can help shape what happens in Nashville. 🗣️
If there's one thing this city can agree on, it's this: we don't mess with the queen of Nashville. After vandals targeted murals of Dolly Parton and Todd Snider, The 5 Spot chose compassion over outrage; a response that honestly feels true to Dolly's spirit. 🦋

FEATURED
Well, I don’t know about y’all, but this week’s newsletters have me craving red fruit. So if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go double-fist a Bloody Mary and a watermelon marg. For the vitamin C, of course.
See you out there,
Olivia
