Mother’s Day is coming in hot, and if you’re the type who waits until the last minute (ugh, like me)… congrats, this is your intervention. We lined up a full guide to brunches, markets, and upcoming events that celebrate our mothers and show them how much they are appreciated. Or if you’re goofy like my family, you and your siblings could also serenade her to TuPac’s Dear Mama during the next basement karaoke sesh so she knows you really care. Just spit-ballin’ here…

What better way to share your love than treating Mom to brunch? Win tickets for the two of you to Mother’s Day Brunch on May 10th at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, with a stunning menu and live jazz to help set the scene to serene. Share the experience and get the quality time that means so much!*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Niko Moon live, unlimited crawfish, and cold beer in a full-blown fairgrounds takeover. King of the Craw hits Springfield on May 9th. 4pm start, high vibes, and tickets are disappearing. Act fast, so you can say you were there!*

  • DJ Shadow basically invented the art of making your brain feel like it’s glitching, in a good way. Now he’s bringing that sonic wizardry to town on October 23rd at Marathon Music Works. Lock in your Halloween pregame plans well in advance this year.

  • Margaritas flowing, live music going, and zero plans of behaving. Margarita Junction lands on May 3rd. Picture tequila, chaos, and a very loose definition of “just one,” teaming up for a good time. Don’t forget the lime!*

  • On the heels of the Rock N’ Roll marathon this weekend, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital keeps up the important work they do with a benefit hosted by Darius Rucker and friends at The Ryman on June 1st. Support the cause.

  • Plus other just announced shows from Taking Back Sunday, Morrissey, Bayonne and more!

MOTHER’S DAY FESTIVITIES

A heartfelt thank you to our mothers out there that helped raise us into the rascals we are today, and to those of you that are now mothers and grandmothers yourselves! We quite simply would BE without you.

For those looking for Mother’s Day ideas, our family editor Rhea (also a really cool mom herself) put together this wonderful list of upcoming events that should help make this one pretty unforgettable! Please sign up for her family newsletter (a weekly send out vs daily) when you get a chance!

JASON’S PICKS FOR MAY

DINING OUT FOR LIFE THIS THURSDAY

As a long-time Nashville native, I’ve had the good fortune of working at a few of the best OG restaurants here in town back in the day, and my favorite day of the year to work was always Dining Out For Life. It’s so great to be able to go out and support a cool local business while knowing that your meal plans are actually making a significant difference.

Dining Out For Life returns once again this Thursday, April 30th, turning participating restaurants across Nashville into a citywide fundraiser, where a portion of your meal supports HIV services through Nashville CARES.

From casual bites at lunch to date-night spots, it’s simple: grab a table, bring your people, and help turn one meal into real impact across the community.*

LOCALS ONLY

  • Paseo South Gulch’s Maiz De La Vida Block Party is taking over this Saturday, May 2nd. Expect local artists, vendors, live music, and romantic-themed cocktails from Maiz x Sugar & Spice Book Co. Make a day of it!

  • Puppies, yoga, and a little matchmaking? Yes please. Head to East Nashville Beer Works in Lebanon on May 2nd for Bend, Sip & Adopt, a cuddle sesh with adoptable pups, and singles hang. All benefiting New Leash on Life. Stretch, snuggle, and maybe spark something.

WIN STUFF

However you celebrate, brunch, flowers, or a heartfelt Tupac rendition, just don’t phone it in. Give a mom that you love a big hug today, and have fun, whatever you get into!

Best,

Jason
